Direct experiences are a stimulus that allow us to acquire new skills that are fundamental in the development of daily life, giving way to other experiences that offer us the opportunity to explore and experiment, allowing us to acquire knowledge and reinforce values.

To encourage learning, direct experiences are an excellent resource, activities can be presented in different scenarios, whether outdoors, in places prepared for activities, libraries or any other space that allows children to acquire beneficial knowledge for their development and preparation in life.

The educator must always look for strategies and activities that help the development of creativity, agility, dexterity, for the benefit of the students.

Direct experience in the camp, focused on environmental education.

The educational power that this type of experience has is strong and positive, these activities aim at children learning skills and knowledge to be a good camper, in addition to learning to preserve the environment.

The obtained learning will increase the expectations of achievement and the confidence in the own developed abilities, managing to promote the acquisition of greater knowledge, in a deeper way provoking significant learning.

Action of the educator, for the direct experience in the camp.

The teacher when considering the exit must:

  • Involve the parents of the children, so that they can experience this experience together.
  • The educator must bear in mind that all the actions that will be carried out will have as objective to preserve the chosen place.
  • In advance, the teacher should visit and analyze the possibilities of experience, which offers the site for children.
  • Students must be informed of what can and can not be done.

Objectives of the direct experience in the camp.

  • Group integration and spontaneous development.
  • Reflection on how the environment should be treated.
  • Put into practice the knowledge acquired, to induce others to do the right thing.
  • That the children in the activity are happy to be able to contemplate the landscape.

Learning and fun through activities.

Feel free for children, it is gratifying and even more if they can act naturally, and be surrounded by pleasant things and know that they are where they want, makes the experience better.

Activities to execute:

  • Arming the tents for their use and learning.
  • Children should take pictures or draw the assembly process of the store.
  • Search of natural elements, which will allow an approach with the environment.
  • Observation of the characteristics of the landscape, to obtain relative data of the climate, such as: cloudiness, luminosity, winds, temperature.
  • Observation and registration of the presence of organic remains, such as: stems, leaves, fruits or flower remains scattered around the place.
  • Fun with learning, watching animals that inhabit the soil or water, such as: worms, ants, toads, snails.
  • Learn the technique of how to make bonfires, whenever it is allowed, since there are parks and reserves with restrictions. Given the case that is possible, the ideal thing is to make a small elevation, in order not to damage the soil, you must make sure not to burn the roots of nearby trees.

Being in the camping place, the children are stimulated, so that there can be a direct contact with the environment, and this allows them to tell stories, fables or the elaboration of rhymes.

Activities to do in the classes after the camp ends.

It is always good to know that these activities help children in their education, since they are carried out in order to provide positive and assertive effects for their development.

Activities to develop:

  • Ask, if the experience has been to your liking.
  • Ask the children to make a brief summary of the experience.
  • Ask, what did you like best about the camp and what did you learn to do, and if possible, demonstrate in the classes?
  • Children can make a mural, with the photographs they captured.

When children have learned something new, they always like to give demonstrations, so we must allow creativity to flow and give the best of themselves, sharing the experience lived.

The idea of programming a direct experience in the camp, is to relate to the natural environment.

Greetings educators and motivators of education

Sort:

Good post cindycam, always outdoor activities, it causes excitement to children, first because they are outside the classroom and second feel free with contact with the environment. For example, when I take my students to a sports activity on the beach, it is a challenge for me and an enjoyment for them.
