How to Solve a problem Scientifically

Hi guys, this time I brought you something that is essential to look at and to solve a problem scientifically. If you want to be a scientist, you must get to know the "Scientific Method".

What is the scientific method????

It is a method of five steps which had been used to characterize natural science since the 17th century. Let's see what the 5 steps are.

Let's clarify this with an example.

Have you seen green colored grass turned into yellow color?

Observation:

Green color grass turned in to yellow color.

Identification of a problem:

How did the grass turned in to yellow color?

Formulating a hypothesis:

Grass turned in to yellow color because of the absence of sun light.

Testing the hypothesis:

Cover an area of grass with a coconut shell while some area of grass is opened to sun light. Keep the shell for 2-3 days and observe.

Arriving at conclusions :

Cover an area of grass with a coconut shell while some area of grass is opened to sun light. Keep the shell for 2-3 days and observe.  can arrive at the conclusion that grass turns in to yellow color because of the absence of sun light.

But at the 3rd step; formulating the hypothesis you may not think that it is because of lack of sun light. You may think that it is because of lack of water or nutrition. That is how it is. Even if we think that it is because of lack of sun light, we should check the others too. Then after we can arrive at the conclusion.

When we control a variable factor, it is called the controlled set up and the other is called the Experimental set up. In the above example, the Controlled set up is the covered area of grass by the coconut shell while the opened part is the Experimental set up.

Hope you learned something
