Teachers, parents, and grandparents who work with, or has children should watch this video it is very important.

I think if we can bring up our children in this way the world would be a happier, better place.

What I liked most is that rich or poor go to school together.

Here they learn about true life.

They make friends here, and when they grow up, and become rich they will have friends in all walks of life.

This will make them better people.

Here they learn that there is no difference between being rich or poor.

There is one teacher that says she always told children that they can be anything they want to be.

She actually felt that she was lying to them because they do not all have the same chances.

Here they can actually achieve it as they are all equal and treated the same.

There are no private schools, and parents say they never have to look for the best school as they are all the same.

They are taught to think for themselves, and that is why they can all achieve what they want.

Happiness and being a child is the most important to them all. Because these children really enjoyed the little time they had to be children, it changes their life completely.

So as I said in the beginning do not miss this video as it is an eye opener.

Education systems in many parts of the world need a rethink and restructuring to let children learn, having followed this for a couple of years thinking about our system, it just does not work.

Had to smile at the pic/quote of a grave, something we were taught is - You come into this world with nothing, you go out with nothing, it is what you in between that counts, no matter if you end up rich or poor.

So true Joan if people remember this in life, we could make the world a better place.

I actually saw and shared this on FB earlier! What fabulous news - how wonderful it would be if this was adapted EVERYWHERE!!!

That is so very true Jaynie it would be wonderful.

Absolutely! And you know, it would raise a completely DIFFERENT generation of youth!!! FAR MORE POSITIVE if you ask me!

That is a great idea, how can it be introduced everywhere?

I truly wish I knew this is the best system I have ever seen.

It's obvious the education system needs a complete overhaul, Finland is not the answer. Yes, we are lagging behind nations like Finland in Education Standards if what we are measuring as Excellence or Competence is UNESCO-driven Performance Standards -- and not actual academic knowledge. If you want a collectivist-minded compliant worker as a graduate then you will test for that particular "outcome" with assessments that look for these traits. In Finland it is this collectivist standards that is being offered as the definitive model of determining what is success and what is failure.

Education should be about "learning'' what you must know in order to find out what you need to know are the required essential skills. Without these basic skills you are at the mercy of the opinions of others and without the ability to gather enough facts to verify or discard what you have been told. As Orwell said, “If people cannot write well, they cannot think well, and if they cannot think well, others will do their thinking for them.”

Those believing Finland's system is the answer need to spend time researching what this really about, it's not what you think it is.
