Luan woke up and lay in bed thinking of this wonderful holiday that must have taken his parents a long time to plan.

All the things they were doing was new to him, and he was thinking of a way that he could really thank them.

He decided to get up and make them some breakfast and then go and wake them up as a surprise. When he got to the kitchen he realised he could not do much, as he was not allowed to use the stove. He dug and found bowls and cereal; he put it in the bowls and took a tray to put it on. He made them coffee in a coffee mug and put the milk and sugar on there. He stood looking and remembered, to put spoons on for them to eat with.

This looked very nice to him and he went to their room.

He heard them talking and asked if he could come in. His mother said sure love we are just talking about the day ahead.

He went inside with the tray and they were very surprised. He said he was trying to thank them for this wonderful holiday and brought them breakfast in bed.

You are just such a sweet child his father said, your mother was trying to convince me to go and make us some coffee and he laughed.

They all finished and said it is about 50km to the farm and they must get going. They were going to the Cape Point Ostrich Farm. When they got there they saw this beautiful house and read the board that said reception area.

They went inside and said they wanted to see the ostriches paid their money and were given a tour guide.

He would take them all over the farm and explain to them how the ostriches lay eggs and the mother sits on them until they are ready to hatch. Luan could not believe how big these eggs were and he never knew that ostriches were so big.

The guide took them to see baby ostriches, and they were so beautiful it was hard to think that they grew up to be so big. The guide told him that these are the biggest bird you get, yet they cannot fly.  He told them how people could ride them like horses. They cover their heads first and the when they start riding they take the cover off. They saw all this in the video that he showed them.

They walked further and saw full grown ostriches. Luan was told that they can kick very hard and it is not something you want to feel. They are big and they can get a little aggressive. His father took a photo close up of the face of one of the ostriches and they laughed because it looked so funny.

They then saw the fully grown ostriches and they seemed very big to him, he could not believe that they were birds, but it was obvious as they had wings just like any other bird they were just very big.

They then saw the fully grown ostriches and they seemed very big to him, he could not believe that they were birds, but it was obvious as they had wings just like any other bird they were just very big. The guide told them that ostriches eat sand and pebbles to grind up their food in their stomach. They do not drink a lot of water as they get it from the plants they eat. But when they get to a place where they do find water, they do drink until they get some again.

They found everything very interesting and felt hungry as it was lunch time. They were told they can have lunch here and eat ostrich steak, as it is very nice. This is what they decided to do. They could not believe how taste the steak was and now Luan could say that he had eaten ostrich to his friends.

After this they went to look at the empty eggs, they used them in the kithen but just made a little hole to empty it.

Then they had people who were very artistic and painted these eggs.  Luan said I am sure grandma would love one of these and they had to buy one for her.

He was so happy that he could go and tell her about the ostriches and give her this beautiful egg.

Hope you enjoyed our story and we will continue tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate you very much.

Very beautiful story.... It makes me remember something I heard about ostrichs. I heard ostrichs do not look downwards. And they run so fast and if someone is been pursued by an ostrich, just lay low with your belly on the ground and they won't see you.

That is very true, they do run very fast thank you for reading my story.
