Feeding the monkeys in the forest.

One of Luans friends had a little sister who just loved eating ice cream cones and they could not help lauging, and taking a picture or her.

Luan had a wonderful time with his friends and family. 

They loved the food and all had ice cream cones afterwards. 

His parents were visiting with the parents of the other children and Luan and his friend sat talking about all the wonderful things he experienced on his holiday.

He told them how he went up a mountain, in a cable car and showed them the pictures, as well as the Tobagon Family Park where he came down a mountain in a stainless steel car.

He told them just some of the things he did as there were so many like the aquarium and how much he enjoyed it all. 

Some of his friends said that they had been up on Table Mountain, but not in the stainless car this sounds very nice to them.

It is getting late and we must all go home, thank you for a lovely evening and that they so enjoyed listening to the lovely holiday. 

The parents all said they are going to have problems that their children will now also want to go on such a holiday next time the school has a holiday.  

Everyone left, and Luan told them thank you for such a wonderful surprise evening, it felt like a birthday party to him. 

He also told them that tomorrow when he goes to the forest, he will take some bananas with him as the monkeys have not left and he saw them again. 

His father said it is a good idea, but just remember they can be vicious so make sure they are far away and put the bananas a distance from them.  

I want you to make sure that you do not get hurt, but we know how much you love animals and you know how to look out for them. I am just saying be careful son. 

I will father but maybe there are some I can make friends with it will just take time. One thing I learnt in the forest is to be very patient.

Animals do not trust you in the beginning, once they start knowing you they will. 

You are very smart Luan that is very true, patience is something you really need a lot of. 

The next morning he took his basket and a bunch of bananas and, told his mom where he was going and not to worry he will be very careful. 

He started walking all the way to where he saw them yesterday and watched them through his binoculars. They all seemed calm and friendly. He decided to put the bananas about 20 metres from where they were and hoped that they would smell them or see them. 

He put a few down and then realised his mistake, the one monkey took them all and would not leave any for the others.

He then split them up and put them far away from the other bananas, so that there was just one at a time.

There was one baby who seemed to be watching him and as soon as he left the banana, it came nearer and peeled it and then ate it.

He went back to the family and sat there staring wondering if there were more bananas for him. 

Luan started scattering them all over and went to sit down at his basket and watch them. Once they saw the bananas it was fast quick work for them to finish them all.

He thought they are really fast eaters I will not be able to do this every day, but I will do it once a week. 

On his way back he had to cross the stream where he usually sat waiting for the animals and for the first time he saw that there were fish in the water.

He decided that tomorrow he will come with his fishing rod and try to catch some but he will throw them back as he did not want to kill them. 

His mother was glad when he got home as she was a bit worried about the monkeys, but she did not want to let him feel that she did not trust him. 

She asked him about them and he told her how they loved the bananas. He said he will do this once a week, otherwise they will stop looking for their own food and they might just die. 

That does make a lot of sense his mother said they must not think that they will get all their food from you I so love the way you think.

Later after dinner he and his father started playing carpet bowls in the living room, but his father won every time and laughed. He said you better practice my boy this is very good for your coordination between your hands and eye. It is also fun so we will start playing every chance we get. 

Oh father that will be nice as the children at school play marbles as well and I have never played with them.

I have never had marbles and the only ones are the carpet ones. His mother said there is a marble factory not far from here and I will take you there to see how they are made. 

We will do this before the school start and you can buy some there to play with. 

Now I really think it is bed time and you must be tired after this busy day. He went to bed said his prayer, and was nearly asleep before he got into bed.
