I do not need a TV, I have a child

With the entry of the child someone else keeps an extract from the household: The TV. Who likes to spend a few hours in front of the TV, has better things to do with a child. The child needs attention and especially in the first few months a parent must always be on hand when the baby calls. Later, when the child is sleeping regularly, quiet DVD or movie nights are back in the day plan. But then you spend the time you have left, often with friends or your partner.

Admittedly, I used to be a couch potato, as the commoners and TV gamers among us are commonly called. My wife did not mind, and liked to join us when one of our favorite shows came on TV. We gladly did what one should not "do": stare at the TV all Sunday, eat in front of the TV, zap and laugh at ridiculous broadcasts. We loved the TV and he loved us.

The TV has to look in the tube

The TV culture in our society has increased more and more. Some people can no longer imagine evening entertainment without television. That's a pity, because life has much more to offer than television. Of course this is especially true for parents! Because children must not be neglected for TV or other entertainment media. Besides, they are not allowed to watch TV too much themselves. There are many studies on how well or poorly children develop in front of the television, but quite objectively, it is wrong to dump the child in front of the flicker box, because there is rarely something to learn.

By the child, the daily routine results anyway as if by itself, because the young have a growing hunger for entertainment with their age. Since the TV fails, there are still games left over. Children want to discover, try, feel, taste, gain experience. This is best done playfully, not when they see shampoo ads or court shows. Go with your child in front of the door. No matter what the age: in the open air it is beautiful and everywhere there are things to discover.

Fun, not only on Tuesday

You can also have fun in the nursery, where there are great toys lying around, with which you can spend time wonderfully as a couple or with the whole family. Such a child is much funnier than watching TV.
And what is that? The dear little girl is already tired! A look at the clock reveals: bedtime after all the exciting games and discoveries. Then, as a father, you might have time to engage in the evening TV program. Or do you care more about work, about friends, about women?

The child takes most of our time, the rest the work, where is the TV? If you miss him, free up time for him. After all, as an adult you are mentally stable and, unlike a child, can no longer be influenced in your development by television.
After all, such a TV evening, with all its couch comfort and its mindless ease is easy and relaxing. You can enjoy the sprinkler.
After sprinkling the demanding child for half the day, you deserve it, right?

But you have made the bill without the rest of humanity: Think of your circle of friends! Friends and child - a topic in itself. When did the neighbors want to come over again, the parents-in-law, and does the partner even want to watch TV?
Yes, man has to think of many people before he is allowed to watch TV. And who thinks about the man? Only the TV, because he wonders at some point, why he is still there.

Oh TV, when will I see you again?

For me, it was similar: When our child was in bed, we were very happy when we had a few quiet hours for ourselves. After such a day full of children's fun, the sensory overload from the TV is sometimes no longer fun!
In the first months, if the child should not be without parents, one can make-up film footage anyway.
Yes, that is the unvarnished truth for TV and cinema: No one needs them, nobody misses them. Well, I have to admit, I do, sometimes.
And now that we have the evenings available again, because the little one is sleeping on a regular basis, an old love flares up again ...
