We have learned about a few buildings of significance and that are well known, but today we will look at most probably the the most famous ships of all times. The Titanic.

- the Titanic was build starting in 1909 and finish it in 1911
- it was 269 meters long and 53 meters high
- coal was burned and the steam was used to power the engines
- there was a mix of people on the ship - the very rich in 1st class and then very poor people that wanted to go to America in search of a new life
- the ship collided with the ice berg and sunk 15 April 1912
- there were more than 2200 passengers on the ship but the amount of life boats were only enough for 1200 passengers
- on that fateful day, more than 1500 people drowned - it was a tragedy
The remains of the Titanic wreck sit on the sea bed over 12400 feet (3780 metres) beneath the surface.
