We have learned about a few dinosaurs this past week. We will end off the series today with some random facts on fossils and dinosaur eggs and some other related topics.

Lets gather some facts...
- Fossils have been found on every continent except Antarctica. - why do you think they did not find fossils here?
- Fossils help us to understand what the dinosaurs looked like, where and how they lived and when. Information can be gathered from footprints, stomach stones, feces, feathers, eggs and bones.
- More than a 100 species of dinosaurs have been discovered and named and this list keeps on growing as they discover new fossils of species not found before.
- Some of the biggest fossilized eggs that have been found, where in China, Some of these eggs were more than 60 cm long.
- The tails of the dinosaurs differ and while some had very long tails, the most recognizable tail is that of the Stegosaurus which had 4 tail spikes which it used to fight off predators attacking him.
- A paleontologist is a person who studies fossils. Would you be interested in doing a job like that? Do some research on what these people do in a day and see if it interests you.
