The honesty
Honesty is a positive moral value linked to truth and transparency, and is the opposite of lies, falsehood and corruption. To be honest is to have an attitude consistent with the truth in our relationships with others, including our family, friends, classmates or work colleagues, neighbors, and all people with whom we relate in one way or another. Not only is it a value that we must exercise but it is also a value we must demand from others.
Honesty is the basis for other values that arise from being honest, for example, being loyal, acting reasonably, being fair. Being honest means not having contradictions between what one thinks, feels and does. From this point of view, honesty is the positive value that is opposed to the negative value of hypocrisy.
One of the qualities we most seek and demand from people is honesty, because it is essential for human relationships to unfold in an atmosphere of trust and harmony. Guarantees support, security and credibility in people. It is one of the most important values in an individual because in addition to making him a reliable person, honesty makes him healthy and lives harmoniously with his own environment and with that of others.
We must not forget that values must first be lived personally, before demanding that others fulfill our expectations. The person who is honest can be recognized, among other things by: A) Be always sincere in their behavior, words and affections. B) Fulfill their commitments and obligations. C) Recognize their limitations or inability to do or comply with something when in fact it is. D) Accept their defects and errors, and strive to overcome them. E) Avoid gossip and destructive criticism that negatively affect others. F) To keep discretion and seriousness before the personal confessions and professional secrets.
When someone lies or cheats, their spirit comes into conflict, inner peace disappears and this is something that others perceive because it is difficult to hide. Dishonest people can easily recognize themselves because they deceive others to gain an advantage in an abusive way. It is very likely that someone managed to cheat the first few times, but being discovered will be avoided by others or treated with caution and distrust.
In life there are no obstacles to honesty. One of the biggest is the impunity that allows laws to be violated and betray commitments without anything happening. Also the success of the "living" and the liars, who make people honest and responsible seem naive, because they work more and get less than those who live cheating. And the lack of encouragement and recognition for those who fulfill their duty and defend their principles and convictions despite the difficulties that this may cause. However, an honest person sooner or later is recognized for living according to this value, and being reliable, credible and loyal, you will find that many doors are opened and opportunities for success are presented.
