CREATING TABLES AND FONT SIZE WITH SIMPLE HTML CODES

Lots of non-programmers still find HTML difficult; or rather they think it is tedious. All you need to do is understand how the code works, or better still copy and paste it. It’s easier to memorize.

In my previous post, I explained how to make your content look great by aligning images anywhere on the post. Also, I explained an easier and neater way to create lists. All these were done with HTML.

I’ll be explaining how to create tables today. Trust me; it’s more easier and understandable than the Steemit markdowns we are used to.

CREATING A TABLE

Have you written a post and you needed a table to illustrate your findings and you are confused on how to get it done? You are on the right post.

First, I will create a table and I’ll be showing you how it was done.

Programming lauguages No of Users Active
C# 80 54
Java 98 57
Python 78 61

To do this with steemit mark downs, you will need to add some symbols between those numbers and sentences. Quite less, but confusing. HTML is a better way I think.

Confused?

You shouldn't be. It's readable.

Compare and contrast the image with the table I made.

  • First, you create a table tag.
  • tr means a table row. So, we created 3 roles. The th in the table rows means a table head. Quite understable.
  • Under the table heads, we created three different roles too. This time, we have td tags. They are table cells.
  • You can go on and on depending on the number of roles and columns you want.

There you go, you just created a table.

FONT SIZE
Steemit font size is okay, but there are times where we need a bigger font or a smaller one, HTML comes in handy here too.

See examples..

This is a very big text.

This is also big.

I am sure you will like this.

Oh! This is smaller.

Are there steemit markdowns for this? I will like to learn that.

In HTML, we have headers(h1, h2, h3, h4,....). All of different sizes. H1 is the biggest, h2 follows, and so on.

The bigger you want it, the lesser the number in the header tag you use.

To make these big words italicised, we create italics and wrap it with the header tags. You can create italics with steemit markdowns or you use the HTML tag too.

See image below.

And those are the things you need to learn to make your contents look great. Know how to reduce fonts, align images, create tables and lists.

You don't need to use other platforms to get it done. It can simply be done here or on your app.

Still not cleared on this?
Let me know in the comment section.
