Lesson Plan: ABCD Model
Every teacher must be familiar with the term Lesson Plan. Because it is one of administration that teacher must fulfill before teaching in the classroom along with other instructional plan such as long-term plan, short-term plan and syllabus.
Lesson Plan plays an important role in what teachers and students are expect to do in the classroom. Therefore, it is important for teachers to write decide their instructional objective before they design the activities. Deciding goal and objective of learning is the first step of lesson plan that specifies activities, procedures and problems. To gain effective and useful objective of learning, a teacher needs to determine what students are expected to in learning the topic taught.
However, there are hundreds even thousand models of Lesson plan that has been used by teachers in the world. But in this article I would like to specifies on ABCD Model. This model is widely used and well known by teachers around the world. ABCD model is one of the simplest but most effective model that can be used to ensure formulation of clear and specific obejective. ABCD Stands for four main components in the lesson plan:
A : Audience
B : Behaviour
C : Condition
D : Degree
Audience is the individuals for whom objective are intend. In this case, they can be primary school childre, highscool students, university students or trainee.
Behaviour refers to the actions or abilities that audience/student show in learning process.
Condition refers to the condition under which the audience/student is expected to show the behavior.
Degree is related to the accuracy or standard to be demonstrated by the audience/student.
