A lesson Plan: Oral Poster Presentation Using Canva
Hello educators, Today' edition of my post I am going to share you one of my lesson plans of English. The topic discussed is about teaching Oral Poster Presentation Using Canva. Canva is one of free webtools that used by teachers and students as learning medium. By learning using this medium, students are expected to acquire speaking skills in presentation and posses digital technology skills in 21 century learning.

Audience
Students in the intermediate or advance level who could be expected in operating the assigned webtool (Canva) and present their poster orally afterwards.
Behavior
Students create a design using the Canva and give presentation orally.
Condition
- The teacher introduces Canva which is a simple yet useful graphic design software.
- The teacher has students in pair/ small groups.
- Then the teacher lets the students visit and explore the website (app) as she does before teaching the students how to use it.
- The teacher may suggest students to watch the tutorials on how to use Canva in YouTube.
- The students then begin to create a poster design in Canva.
- Finally, the students present their poster orally.
Learning Objectives
The use of Canva in the classroom allows students to create their own poster easily and creatively and lets them to learn autonomously. Finally, they would present their ideas in the poster they create in order to promote and campaign about environmental issues orally. This leads students to gain two benefits: having autonomous learning atmosphere and assessing their speaking performance through the oral poster presentation.
Procedure for Conducting Activity
Gain Attention
The teacher attracts the students in the beginning of the class by showing the poster on the digital projector and ask them if they like and want to create the same. The class then runs as stated on the class condition.
Tasks
There are two main activities for this lesson:
- Creating a poster design
- Giving an oral poster presentation
Interaction
The teacher is as facilitator and students may ask students if they are not able to solve the problem they encounter by themselves.
Assessment
The teacher creates a rubric score to assess students’ performance. The rubric focuses on their oral presentation which also includes the visual aid evaluation point.
