RE: STEEMIT CULINARY CHALLENGE #2 : The Slippery Jack Sandwich - A Sustainable Wild Mushroom Treat!
Your post is fantastic @haphazard-hstead. I greatly enjoyed reading about the Slippery Jack mushrooms. They do look delicious and your arugula sprouts and tomatoes look incredible. Well done!
Thank you, @rebeccaryan. I like being able to eat my yard. If people can get past the "slippery" of the Slippery Jack and cook it correctly, they are worth the effort.
With all the rain we've been getting, I'm looking forward to more Slippery Jacks and some other surprises, too. I've had 3 other kinds of wild mushrooms from my yard this last couple weeks, too. :D
That's amazing! I love the concept of being able to sustain oneself from the efforts of gardening and foraging. In my books, both are exceptionally valuable skills and I feel very lucky to be able to learn from you and the other great people I have made a connection with on Steemit. I feel like our world might just have a chance, if we can keep evolving and changing our habits to better, more efficient and less harmful ways. It all starts with sharing of sound information.
That's what our @foraging-trail and @gardening-trail are for, here on Steemit. Each of those pages has posts that have been curated. They have some great information.
