A lot of mushroom pickers talk about Slippery Jacks being "garbage". But I beg to differ. I wouldn't put them in my top 5, but they are worth picking and eating. The key is to dry saute them and get their liquid out. And to keep them in large pieces so they don't shrink into nothingness as their water is cooked out.
