    Sort Order:

I think those symbols in the main image is Runes.

    ·

    I noticed that, too. ᛓ, ᚹ or ᚦ, ᚨ, ᚱ

    ·
    ·

    You never diaaapoint me

    ·
    ·

Wow, how did you type the runes characters?

    ·
    ·
    ·

    I typed as unicode entities (& # x 1 6 D 3 ; without the spaces becomes ᛓ)

    ·
    ·
    ·
    ·

I see. Thanks for sharing the info.

    ·
    ·

Don't know if I'm on the right track, but the runic characters ᛓ, ᚨ, P (with vertical line sticking out) , ᚱ seem to translate to "f""a""th""r" in English.
    http://www.ancientscripts.com/futhark.html
But what does the 3 and ? refer to?

BTW, this is another good website on runes. http://lindaursin.net/library/welcome/runes/cipher-runes/

    ·
    ·
    ·

On the #steemitcryptochallenge chat, Tim said (ha! pun not intended) that the runes stand for numbers. I was trying to use them as letters, too.

    ·
    ·
    ·
    ·

Thanks for the tips, jfollas. So maybe the "3" is a hint that the runes stand for numbers? On this rune website, the rune symbols are paired with numbers. ᛓ = 1,ᚨ=4, ᚹ=3, ᚱ=5. If we look at the placement of the symbols, ᛓ+ᚹ=ᚨ (1+3=4), and if symmetry holds, then "?"=ᚱ=5?

    Talk about a blockbuster movie.

Seems pretty hard to me. Are you Fib'ing us?

    ·

That's what I was thinking. He said it's easy, maybe so simple we are over-thinking it. Last challenge I got further along to unlocking the encrypted message faster. Even with all the collective clues/guessing from evryone, I still can't piece it together.

    ·

I see what you did there

    ·

    Ahh the answer is.... BITCOIN!

just when I was about to go to sleep.

    ·

Don't loose your focus: go an sleep. You could continue in the morning when your brain will be working in a much more efficient mode.

    ·
    ·

the sleep didn't bring any magical solution unfortunately.

Alright , we have what looks like a chart of all cryptocurrencies the last month LOL let's see where this takes us.

    ·

Well that's an idea EDIT: hahaha I just got it know. LOL

And here I am, still struggling with solving a simple math problem while people are doing this stuff. :p

hmm, well if we layer the line chart over the fossil record we get Mammoths and some kind of Plesiosaurs :-D

    ·

    Steem is rising! Be happy!

    Is it the correct solution?

    Man! This is hard.

its Confusing :-/ please answer it :-D

the price to steem up in the last days

i will try to solve this upvote me for courage

Is it Laplace–Fourier Transform of the Stretched Exponential Function?

Hi timsaid, wow, this looks really interesting and fun! I'm new to the Crypto Challenge and I don't know much about cryptography, but I do like riddles and would like to give this a try!

So, if someone thinks he found a clue, is he supposed to post to the comments section of this post? Are are we supposed to try to figure out what the two ?'s in the picture refer to and try to decrypt the coded message?

    ·

Basically when you follow all the hints and can solve them you will write a comment with the final solution

    ·
    ·

unfortunately second hint is encrypted but no password is matching when I'm trying to decrypt it. MD5 hash decryption result is Uran. Uran is part of Navi Mumbai city of Maharashtra state in Konkan division. It lies in the Raigad district, east of Mumbai across the Dharamtar Creek. Uran is primarily a fishing & agriculture village, which has developed into the special economic zone of Uran. The primary language spoken is Agri& KOLI which is a dialect of Marathi. I think I'll be able to get more if the decryption works for the second hint. Thanks

    ·

Uran could also mean Rigoberto Uran, a cyclist in the Tour de France.

    ·
    ·

Could also be German for Uranium.

    ·
    ·
    ·

This is the longest I have see a challenge go without a leap past at least the first hint. I still have no idea on the line graph image or how any of it relates.

Теперь хотя бы что то понятно. Большое спасибо 😊!

On foto the beginning of the formula fpf3r

the main image is definitely a clue because the source stock image has no symbols in it

just need to figure out how uran fits into it and that other line chart thing

I think the two highlighted currencies are BTC and ETC.

Looking at the F P F 3 R in the main photo, this one is hard. hmm

    ·

yes it could be a reference to Injective Quotient Rings...

    ·
    ·

Or the MD5 128-bit hash value? or the size of standard paper! kidding this one is hard

Its a map of Bitcoin forks into new coins. First ? is Bitcoin and the bottom one is harder to tell since I am not sure where this map came from but my best guess would be Dogecoin since it looks like a split from TBX -> Litecoin ->Junkcoin-> Doge coin

    ·

If that's true I'm screwed, I don't know the history of who forked who on the bitcoin blockchain. :-D

    I like

    Good luck everyone!

I'll try my luck at #mypictureday challenge instead, also held by @timsaid

This challenge is not impossible, I even made it quite simple this time

    uh-huh ;-/

    ·

Oh I forgot to take the last part of the sentence out! Just kidding :) Once you got it you will see it's not that hard

I was practically lost at first sight..hope I can figure this out.

"this isn't for the weak-hearted", you got that right. I'm out lol. Good luck though to everyone who does this challenge! ! !

Hi and welcome to the last task for this crypto challenge.

    ·

Uranium 232 with a 68.9 year half life?

    ·
    ·

Or, could be Thorium (or something to do with Thorium) since the FibTree's filename was "peace.jpg".

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorium-based_nuclear_power

It is difficult to make a practical nuclear bomb from a thorium reactor's byproducts. According to Alvin Radkowsky, designer of the world's first full-scale atomic electric power plant, "a thorium reactor's plutonium production rate would be less than 2 percent of that of a standard reactor, and the plutonium's isotopic content would make it unsuitable for a nuclear detonation." Several uranium-233 bombs have been tested, but the presence of uranium-232 tended to "poison" the uranium-233 in two ways: intense radiation from the uranium-232 made the material difficult to handle, and the uranium-233 led to possible pre-detonation. Separating the uranium-232 from the uranium-233 proved very difficult, although newer laser techniques could facilitate that process.

    ·
    ·
    ·

i noticed the file name too and then read this about the peace symbol
    Image result for peace symbol

    en.wikipedia.org
The peace sign was really designed in 1958 by British artist Gerald Holtom for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), which was having its first major march in England. Holtom explained that the symbol superimposed the semaphore letters “N” and “D” over each other.

    ·

    Good job. It was fun

Yippy I was waiting for this one! this will be a lot of fun. :-)

    ·

Good luck and don't drive crazy

Is it gonna hit rock bottom??? Or rise to the surface???

    ·

    Hilarious! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Nice post thank you for sharing

I just spent 5 hours trying, but can't figure it out lol.
I'm curious what will it be :D

    yesssssssssssssssssssssssss

    ·

I will say yeah when it's solved!

It looks to me like foresight forecasting technique to actively explore, shape, and manage the future. Simply by understanding key drivers of change possible projections into the future and implications of specific projects. By implementing creativity, expertise, interaction and evidence like think tanks do or what input given revealed the output . Innovation is usually the output with different possibilities since change is constant those unpredictable interactions change the answer. Knowing the what it's up against will influence the outcome ,many possibilities , like the tetryonics or the completion of phisics with the Higgs boson addition of vacuum energies to einsteins theory of everything. Or maybe space time .
The first hint is it the answer" time" ?
    Just guessing really

    try to solve this ?????????

    Oh, boy... I'm installing encipher.it :O

Just curious: what's your educational background @timsaid?

I'm really impressed by the complexity of your challenges. I wouldn't even start researching. I think I may need days to get something close to the real answer.

    ·

Biochemistry and computer science. Good luck!

    ·

I think it's genetics, I swear his real parents are people like Elizabeth Blackburn and Stephen Hawking.

    ·
    ·

    LOL! Not even close

    ·
    ·
    ·

    Marge and Homer Simpson?

    Wow
    Thanks for challenge
    I want it.

This one is really hard.. I thought I had the answer to the second hint but I didn't :(

The First hint does it have something to do with evolution ?

    Indeed a happy hunting...

if you decrypt the md5 hash you get: Uran

    too complex for me

What do you think about that?

Uran (named Astro Girl) was first introduced in the 1960s series. She was presented as a birthday present to Astro, who rejoiced claiming he had always wanted a sister. She proves to be a handful, teaching Astro what it actually means to be an older brother.

resteeming this. May the best, win.

The 1st answer is 1 (one) (to substitute the question mark) ...!

If you guys want to play the sesame street version of this, check out my cryptionary posts on my blog.

They look like Orkun or a similar old Turkish alphabet letters.

    ·

    Also MD5 gives Uran

    ·

And we need a password to decrypt that enciphered text. Password is not Uran by the way.

How is this? Someone explain to me

It depicts the rising and falling of cryptocurrencies Wich resulted to activities of buying and selling. The codes are the addresses of buyers and sellers.

    What about this:
    first images - 1680-1186
    second - 1680-1257
    height differs by 71 pixels.
    It's not spontaneous

very nice info its worth reading

At first I thought the md5 was a file's hash, like a document or something. Just now I tried to use Uran to decipher the ciphertext. Can't find any links. No clue about the image either.

    ·

Did you check the chat? They found out the image contains runes

    thanks to share it..
    it's very hard.

Man this is hard lol. I will keep trying

This is awesome post, thank you for posting, your posts are very interesting. Thank’s.
