RE: Suggestion For A Change On How Flagging Functions On Posts
I got excluded by Youtube... can't watch in my country :P "Oh Canada" you're letting me down!
Some interesting ideas indeed. Thanks for bringing it up in the after show not included above, and as a post. Some thing for people to think about when some huge power flagging affects a user, maybe not even 100. Just a way to even just call attention to other whales who can get involved and rebalance the situation. Or a communication system (IMs) where we can organize more easily to communicate about issues that happen.
The open access to our "bank accounts" is also something to consider in light of how we closely guard our "real money" bank accounts. One or the other is wrong, or they are both wrong, but there is definitely an inconsistency in how we are dealing with these two types of accounts we value.

The communication system sounds like a great idea and I believe something like that is in the works.
The open access to our accounts, well yes that's an issue. What's to stop governments from finding your account and finding a way to tax you on it since they see exactly how much you have.
"This content is not available in your location." hehe thanks though.
SMH... maybe you can try read this article that explained what happened. http://www.contactmusic.com/stephen-colbert/news/stephen-colbert

Well, that demonstrates the cult of personality and more. People viewed it as an attack on their idol, someone they personally identify with as important in their life, and have become attached to. They took the attack personally and went after her for trying to just take down a show as a joke maybe. So a show that people identify with personally as important to their worldview, selfview and ego-personality-identity construct (like I talked about today), value that as more important in relation to themselves the life of an actual living individual.
Craziness indeed.
The crazy thing is that we do see that on here. Someone supports a certain whale or witness, people remove their votes and stops supporting their posts and goes as far as creating posts and even making threats. A lot of the times the intent is to bring awareness to the community but we can see it get out of hand and the "Craziness begins."
:) Indeed. That's why I gave that elaborate explanation so that those affected can more clearly see what is going on in them when they choose to ally with their steemit idols, or "power players" i.e. whales = popular. Another bias of herd mentality coupled in. There are layers of biases at work in people's fallacious thinking hehe.
