THE NAME THAT JESUS OBTAINED
The Death, Resurrection, Ascension and Exaltation of Jesus Christ are Foundational Pillars of the Christian Faith which we need to continuously peruse if we can take charge of affairs in our individual Christian lives and take charge of our circumstances to the glory of God. The events mentioned above ended up with Jesus obtaining a Name that is above every name whith headerch is at the disposal of the Christian.
In todays’ readings we are invited to reflect on the power and capacity of the Name of Jesus in a number of ways:
The name gives us special access to the Father. John16:23-24
Powerful, ‘impossible,’ outstanding miraculous healing is available in the name of Jesus. Acts 4:7-10, 16.
Salvation is available only in the name of Jesus. Acts 4:12
Philippians 2:6-11 outline how our Lord Jesus came to inherit this name – by His Death, Resurrection, Ascension and Exaltation/glorification. Let us focus on these events in the life of our Lord, for the consequences and implications have provided grounds for our authority over all things. Christ is risen indeed.
