What has happened to the natural curiosity of students and how to develop it

When we talked of natural curiosity it simply means how to focus on Environmental Inquiry, and how to bring inquiry-based teaching practices into the classroom.

I have observed that children are naturally inquisitive. However, when they have got into the primary school, they seem to lost this natural curiosity. They wish to learn, but for some reasons. One such obvious reason would be good marks. Another may be parent pressure. These are external reasons.
By the time students upgrade to college, this natural curiosity seems to be in a 'sleepy mode'. That is what I have observed in some of our students here in my country. There are many ways we can use to help to re-awake the natural curiosity of our students... I think that this curiosity will drive them to search energetically and responsibly for information, thus helping them to be an independent learner.

How to develop natural curiosity through project based learning is a practical instructions that provides each step instructions for PreK–3 teachers interested in embedding project-based learning (PBL) into their daily classroom routine.

I would like to hear from y'all friends from other countries. Perhaps schooling is just as competitive in your countries (if not more so). I look forward to hear your comments
