SteemitBloggers Contest: A Fairytale Of Sorts

She was the Great Great Granddaughter and namesake of Goldilocks. Remember the little girl, who on her walk exploring, ended up at The Bears? Well, we all know what happened there. She finished Baby Bear's porridge, broke his chair, and dreamt in his bed until they came home and all hell broke lose. So Goldilocks, in that scare, ran and ran and ran until she reached a faraway place with an abandoned castle.

That castle became home. And as if it had been waiting for its owner, everything started to fall into place. Over time the birds started singing, flowers started blooming, magical creatures started appearing, one fish two fish became schools of fish, animals started multiplying. She felt complete in that magical place. There were carousels tinkling with beautiful music, there was laughter and song and dance. And the treasures that could be found in this land spread far and wide.

Then one day The Bears turned up, tagging along was the goblin, Rumpelstiltskin. They barged in to the castle with a curse so ugly, that it even made the larks cry. While The Bears stood there, tall and proud, Rumpelstiltskin cursed Goldlilocks. "Your fifth generation, will be a Princess, named after you. On her 18th birthday, she will prick her finger while reaching out for an apple, and she will die. Everyone here will turn into mice. No one will be spared."

"Stop!!" cried The Fairy Godmother. "Go back to where you came from before I turn you into GIFs". The Bears had heard of being stuck in a moment in time, doing the same thing on repeat and so left with Rumpelstiltskin chuckling to himself. As days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, and months into years, the story was shared through generations. When the Princess was born her parents called her Goldilocks but added Jaynie as her middle name in the hopes of avoiding the curse. She was a happy child and everyone protected her from finding out.

But they whispered softly of her impending 18th birthday every chance they got. Will the curse come to pass they wondered. The Princess grew into a beautiful, strong, funny and intelligent young woman. She had visitors from far and wide, for her generosity knew no bounds and everyone wanted to see her before dooms day.

One day, she had a visitor from Sesame Street. It was a blue muppet, bringing cookies as a gift. She was delighted and before she could invite him for dinner, he burst into tears, tore open the boxes of cookies and started stuffing them in his mouth.

"My beautiful Princess, I know these cookies are for you, I'm so sorry but they help me keep calm. Please share some with me for I am about to tell you a tale of yore."

"Cookie Monster!! Please don't cry. Tell me your story so I can ease your pain", said the Princess, ever ready to wipe away the monsters tears.

He then went on to tell her what he had heard, all the while eating the cookies that he had brought her as a gift. The Princess was surprised at such a story. She called on her cousins, Hansel and Gratel who were staying with her ever since their father remarried, and confirmed that it was true. They discussed it at length when Gratel suggested calling her boyfriend Aladdin.

With just two days to her 18th birthday, there was a rat-tat-tat on her window. When she opened it, just as Gratel had told her, was a man on a Flying Carpet holding a lamp.

"Princess, I have come with the most powerful magic. Do not be alarmed."

As he balanced on the flying carpet, he rubbed the lamp and out came a woman that resembled an octopus.

"This is Ursula, and she will grant you one wish but she will want something in return."

"Aaah, so someone has finally told you of the curse. And you are as lovable and beautiful as they say. Urrrggghhhh," the woman with flaying tentacles said before she shrugged and gave her a hug.

The Princess had seen many creatures in her life, and she had even heard of this magic lamp but to be in the presence was something else.

"That did feel good", Ursula said as she swayed closer to the lamp. "I will lift the curse. But you will in turn, bring all that good vibes that you possess to a land that needs it."

"I'm listening," said the Princess, eager to hear the exchange as she was always up for a challenge.

"There is a land called Steemit. It is a land that needs your help. There are many fishes who are floundering and they will need you to spread your love bug. You won't be alone. You will have the help of bloggers, they spin magic too with their words and they will show themselves on your journey. Do you accept Princess?"

"Yes, Yes, of course I do." she said without hesitation. For she too loved words and stories and meeting new people.

"Very well then. Your wish is my command. The curse is lifted. Here I present to you the magickey, a lap top and a smartphone. They will transport you into a place called Steemitbloggers. They will embrace you with open arms."

And just like that Ursula vanished into a puff of smoke and back into the lamp. The boy on the flying carpet seemed wildly pleased with himself, bowed and left. And just like her Great Great Grandmother, the Princess walked into the The New World and called it home.

The End.... or is this The Beginning?

This is my submission for a challenge by @zord189 & @steemitbloggers. Titled "Goldilocks & The 3 SteemitBloggers, it was suppose to be as close to a fairytale as possible. We had to use 10 keywords:

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did trying to get the keywords in, keeping it as fairytale-ish as possible and weaving steemitbloggers into it.
