What are YOU Grateful for TODAY? - #GratitudeTrain No. 33
I had so much fun on Steemit yesterday! I spent literally the whole day chatting and engaging with people on their posts and mine but I got to bed way too late because of that and also the fact that my little man is not well and was up an down all night with a fever... so I am not feeling my brightest today haha!! But having said that, it is moments like this when I contemplate the contrast of my lifestyle now, to my lifestyle for the past 11 years and it sure does put a big smile on my face, because even though I may be feeling a little less energetic than usual, I still have the freedom to work at my own pace (in my pyjamas lol) and also to be here to take care of @judethedude. A year ago, would have been a very different scenario.
Welcome to the #GratitudeTrain No. 33
Today I am grateful for having the courage to take a step into the unknown, face a bittersweet challenge and change the quality of my life forever.
What is the purpose of The Gratitude Train?
......
I am of the firm belief that the habit of practicing gratitude on a daily basis is the key to shifting our lives in a positive direction. This is not only the expression of gratitude for the positive things in our lives, but also for the challenges which we are often faced with.
But sometimes, we can get wrapped up in our day to day existence and agenda, and it is not that we aren’t grateful, but rather that we simply forget to actually verbalise it or take the time to offer it a moment of dedication even in thought.
It is also true that surrounding yourself with the positive attitudes and mind-set of others, that it has a ripple effect on yours too…
So for ALL of us, including myself, I have decided to start this #gratitudetrain. We all spend a good portion of our lives here browsing through our Steemit feeds, so why not build a positive habit in the process. I think it will be great to share something every day that we are grateful for in our lives, no matter how big or small it may be.
Whether it is a new career path, a new hobby, an achievement of your child, a new relationship, a challenge overcome or simply a new pair of shoes… it doesn’t matter! There is without question… ALWAYS something we can take a moment to be grateful for!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
......
Step 1.
So starting today, in the comments section of #gratitudetrain post No. 1 – write something that you are grateful for in your life and start it with the number… as in if this is the first time you are sharing on the #gratitudetrain, then write the number “1.” And then state what you are grateful for.
Step 2.
Keep a record of your #gratitudetrain expressions shared in the comments somewhere in a word doc or such.
Step 3.
When you reach 30 – then publish a post on your own profile and be sure to use the #gratitudetrain tag or to tag me @jaynie in the post.
As simple as that!
The idea of this being, that not only will you develop a healthy and positive habit but at the end of 30 days when you share your own post, you will be able to reflect back and realise, just how MUCH GOODNESS there is in your life!
……
Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

Oh, and if you wanna meet the
wannabe photographer in me...
Great idea @jaynie ...... I bet if you did a #complaining tag most people would get to 100 in a week ... sad reflection of our inner thought processes.
Not bragging but I do not need to do thi as I made a very concious decision about 5 years ago to be happy, grateful and accepting of what life has dished me. Every single day I am grateful for my most precious commodity .... my health. Walking the dog in cold miserable weather I just smile and think to myself..."I could be in a wheelchair...or ill in hospital. Be grateful that you can be here, and enjoy the wild birds, the beautiful sunrises and of course your 'unconditional loving' dog Bozo who gets you out here to appreciate what you have" ....
Works for me, my food tastes better... the music sounds better and interactions with my loved ones are far better and meaningful !!
Keep up the good work and I am very glad for you that things are working out and your brave step has allowed you to move into positive territory. Then again, your hard work and committment is what makes it work....{thinks to self} 'aishhh, seems a bit boastful....should I click 'submit'?
@themagus, there is nothing boastful about what you have written. Attitude is a conscious choice and 5 years ago you made the choice to be happy. Good for you! and now you can reflect on how it has changed everything in your life. Life is all about choices and we get to decide how we want to live our lives! Glad you shared this everyone to read!
well said @claudiaz!!!
Happiness comes from gratefulness!!
yes it does indeed, but this too is a choice you make!
So True!! You've got a new follower!
hahahaha @themagus that is so bloody true!!!! People are such gluttons for negativity! I would go as far as to say they are addicted to it!
As for your brag session (just kidding lol) That is the ONLY way to be!!! It shifts absolutely EVERYTHING in your life and I learnt that the long way around... which is possibly why I feel so strongly about it and try to "share" that mindset a little with others if I can.
...and I am very glad you DID hit that publish button ;)
grateful heart always create a thankful home @jaynie
