RE: Steem.supply | Your Eyes May Deceive You; The Rules of Engagement

I really don't "market" myself since this is technically just a blog platform and in the FAQ it says something like, "post for the sake of posting what you like not for votes" something to that effect. Like you, most of my content is MMA or BJJ related but I have other interests and I post them here too. My own site is solely about the interests I had when I made it and I keep it up for that reason alone. Sure there's ads and etc on it but I do it for fun.

I think it's a good idea to expand and share your other interests here on Steemit. While I've been here a short time, I like that it's like a social mixer where we can just share ideas about anything. Since I follow you, I'm sure I'll see the stuff you post outside of BJJ/MMA stuff and chances are it'll peak interest in one way or another.

Post away my friend and have fun.

Very good points. I definitely enjoy myself on here regardless. I used to post a wider variety of content on my old account. My vision for this account though is to turn SteemitBJJ into a brand. This platform is fun. But the opportunity to market and build a brand is ripe. First mover advantage over any legit mainstream companies and brands is important and it may be months if not years before any of them show up. I just want to be sure I'm not diluting my original vision.

That "first mover" line holds true everywhere so you're not wrong. Especially since it seems other blogging idea similar to Steemit are popping up everywhere. I signed up for a newsletter for something called "Civil" that looks to reward contributors in ETH. Looks very similar to here but more targeted towards journalists. Steemit is first so likely will be more rewarding since they're only talking about it and this is already up and running in beta.

True, there will be good competitors. I think Steemit is ripe to earn on your promotional content that leads to sold content, goods, or services. We don't see enough success in that yet here, but we will.

I think from a journalist standpoint, that Steemit can allow for your regular articles to advertise other paid content, newsletters, etc.
