Fishphotography : Common Fishes of Bangladesh

Hello Friends! Its cool to back again. Now I am with something different. Today I am here with post that includes pictures I have taken when I visited a fish market near my home in Sylhet.

Bangladesh used to known as land of rivers and ponds. Its well known for fish-loving nation. There were sentences I can remember like "Mache Vate Bangali" that means "Bengalis by fish and rice". Fish and rice is to be must in everydays menu.

Generally I avoid fish market type of place. But it was an emergency situation and I went to shop for fish at fish market. I saw huge variety of fishes there. So, can't resist my temptation to click some shots for my steemit blog.

This fish is known as গ্রাস কার্প / Grass carp in Bangladesh. In English it is known as Grass carp. The scientific name of this is Ctenopharyngodon idella.

In Bangladesh known as টেংরা/ Tyangra. The English name of this fish is Tyangra. Scientifically it is known as Batasio batasio, Mystus tengara, Macrones vittalus

This fish is known as Koi /কৈ in Bangladesh. The english name of this fish Climbing Perch. The scientific name is Anabas testudineus

This fish is very nutritious. It is not much costly indeed. So its favourite between common people of Bangladesh.

This is among common fishes in Bangladesh. As it has only bone in the middle part of it, I like to cook for my family this. As it has no risk to eat for kids specially. It is very tasty indeed.

This fish is called "বোয়াল " / "Bowal" in Bengali. The english name is Wallago. The scientific name of this fish is Wallago attu
