Merry Christmas !!!

Christmas or Nativity (the birth of Jesus Christ) is a Christian celebration celebrated on December 25 (in the Gregorian calendar) or January 7 (in the Julian calendar) each year. It is part of the 12 royal feasts of the Byzantine churches. In some countries where Christians are the majority, Christmas is also a legitimate celebration, and the feast is extended the next day, December 26: the second Christmas. From the beginning of the 20th century, Christmas also becomes a secular celebration, celebrated by both Christians and non-Christians, the center of gravity of the celebration moving from church membership to rite to the family aspect of the gift exchange or, for children, "gifts from Santa Claus".

At this holy feast, all Christians refresh their souls with the memories of their childhood, bringing to mind the rich and precious snowflakes, the clinging of the bells, the fresh smell of fir and the cozonace, the impatience of waiting for gifts under the Christmas tree , all of which create an atmosphere of fairy tale, peace of mind and love.

In Romanian culture, Christmas is a character with bivalent features: it has miraculous powers, specific to gods and heroes of fairy tales, but also qualities and defects specific to people. As a profane person, he is an old man, an old shepherd with a bearded beard, a neighbor of Santa Claus, his younger brother. Under the influence of Christianity, Christmas also appears as an apocryphal figure: it was born before all the saints, it is higher than the shepherds in the village in which Christ was born and others. The legends of the Lord's birth portray the ethnographic landscape of a pastoral village where Santa Claus lived and had large houses, stables, bark, and cattle tails. Suddenly, an unknown woman arrives in this peaceful village, who, feeling the time to give birth, knocks at the door of Santa Claus's house and asks for him to be accommodated. As he is a poor man, he sends it to his rich brother, Santa Claus. This, not knowing that the woman is the Mother of God, does not receive it or sends her to the cattle farm.

Christmas helps the stranger to give birth, he is punished by Christmas with the cutting of his hands on his elbows. When Santa finds out that the Lord Jesus was born in his stable, he repents and asks for forgiveness to God, becoming the first Christian and the oldest saint.
