Why does God liken himself to a lion

When God created the animals he gave them special traits and abilities.

So God by likening himself to a certain animal he simply takes and uses the trait of that animal to reveal his character. For example, Jesus is referred to as a lamb of God and this simply shows the traits that Jesus possessed as he was to die for the world. A lamb unlike other animals doesnt rebel when you want to kill it so did Jesus when he was been crucified.

God expressed his nature and character into the creation he created and that's the reason the Bible says we can learn about the spiritual simply by observing the physical.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

God uses such analogies just to help in communicating with man about some of the traits he possesses.
