So it's over... we lost.

Here are some talking points and messages to take away:

1. For a young platform, these results are impressive!

The fact that we even made it through to the finals is incredible. Steemit is still in beta and STEEM still a relatively new platform, and was going up against established and already big cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Monero, and Ethereum Classic. We still managed to beat all of them out except for ETC, and it was a neck-and-neck battle all the way to the finish.

2. The community is strong!

The steemit community showed out for this vote, going up against (probably: guys holding tens of thousands of ETH, ETC, XMR, etc. with control over thousands of twitter accounts). The fact that we (a small blogging community in BETA, for crying out loud!) were able to keep up with this shows that our community is strong and great things lie ahead for the community!

3. There will be more of these opportunities soon to come!

There will be other opportunities to put STEEM on exchanges, to promote STEEM and steemit, etc. Just because we didn't win this doesn't mean we won't win other things like this in the future! With thousands of people signing up for steemit everyday, the community is only getting bigger and stronger, and our "voting power" (yes, steemit pun intended) will only increase in these types of polls, and eventually, we will be as popular as the likes of ethereum, bitcoin and ETC.

In summary, there is no reason to be upset about this poll. There will be opportunities in the future to promote STEEM and steemit, and the growing community will capitalize on them!
