From Krill to Whale
I started this idea while I wrote my last post. But I think the idea is really fun. So, I decided to create a second post with a better title.
The @steemitboard has a fun page about Level Notifications
The hardest part for Steemians is making it to minnow. I think there should be marine based categories for every power of ten. Here is my suggestion for level names (all based on marine life).
- 0 Accounts start as part of the Primordial Ooze
- 1 - 9 is a Carbon Compound
- 10 - 99 is a Protein Strand
- 100 - 999 is a Protozoa
- 1,000 - 9,999 is Algae
- 10,000 - 99,999 is Krill
- 100,000 - 999,999 is Redfish
- 1,000,000 - 9,999,999 is a Minnow
- 10,000,000 - 99,999,999 is a Dolphin
- 100,000,000 - 999,999,999 is an Orca
- 1,000,000,000 - 999,999,999,999 is a Whale
- 1,000,000,000,000 and over is a Kraken.
In my scheme new accounts start out as part of the primordial ooze. The first actions catapult people through a phase as a basic carbon compound and into a complex protein strand and finally into a single cell life form such as yeast, bacteria or simply a protozoa.
Getting to 9,999 vests is actually really difficult. One should be proud if they make it that far. So I think such accounts should be recognized as algae. Green algae pulls the energy of the sun into the marine eco-system . Spam accounts could be recognized at Red algae as spam is like a deadly red tide.
Accounts would become krill, the lifeblood of the sea, after 100,000 vests.
Krill happens to be high in omega 3 fatty acids and are a prime source source of protein for whales.
After the Krill one would use the standard categories.
However, I think there should be an addition higher than the whale. Might I suggest the mighty Kraken. As the mighty kraken was mythological, it's vesting level should be astronomically high.
In my scheme, my account is an algae with aspirations of becoming krill. I think that these categories would make the program more fun for newbies. Lets face it, I doubt that more than a tenth of all accounts will ever rise as high as a minnow.
