STEEMZINE: Idea for a Steem Project
We see a lot of new contents added to the blockchain every single second. Some good posts remain on the timeline just for a few minutes before being buried by coming new posts, and disappear from the sight.
I think we should have a mechanism to let some of those valuable, timeless contents to last longer on the interface, or to make it more searchable and accessible in the future.
I am an editor. I usually think about compilations of contents.
Actually, there is quite a lot of compilation-type posts here on the platform. By compilation, I mean those posts like:
- "Daily Photo Selection" series by @photo-trail
- "The Daily Tribune: Most Undervalued Posts" by @screenname
- "Steemit Photo Challenge" winner collections and announcement by @jamtaylor
- etc
Now, think of STEEMZINE.
(Well, this is just a name that come to my mind when I thought of this idea.)
So, instead of editing manually, you can just import links to STEEMZINE and it will do the editing and layout for you.
STEEMZINE is ready with well-built template, and your compilations of contents will appear in a layout similar to, say, Flipboard. You can even assign a post to be the "headline," and some other posts to be the "side columns."
In short, you can create you own magaZINE, out of any posts on the blockchain based on your selection. You may release your own "weekly magazine," or "monthly selection," or "daily best" on various topics of interest.
You will publish your "magazine" to the community. And yes, content-compiling is also a way of voicing, or a means of self-presentation.
Then, rather than follow a Steemit account, I can now choose to subscribe to his weekly magazine on the certain topic.
Based on a well-design rating method, we can even have an "archive of magazines." I think that those good and timeless articles or medias deserve this kind of exhibitions, rather than just hiding deep inside the blockchain.
If you think that this is an idea worth bringing into discussion, please upvote, and more importantly, please re-steem it.
Your re-steem will be a big favor to me and the community, as I am still a minnow yet to have a good number of followers.
Thank you for reading.
If this is the idea of creating some kind of templates for better organization and automatic formating of content, I would 100% agree, but that you will have to program yourself, or find someone who is motivated enough to execute your idea. Thank you for the mention @ygern.
hm not a bad idea, get working on it :)
Haha. It is just an idea. I am not the programming or the technical person. So actually i can do nothing for this :D
If someone in the community is interested, they can go for it.
How much in royalties would you ask for I they do it heheh
I know that something similar to this is being worked on, not quite in that magazine layout but something that will pull interesting information into a new format.
I want 100000STEEM. LOL
ok. good to hear that something similar is going on. I will look forward to it.
