[re-post] Steemit's future? -- These are my REALISTIC imaginations.

  • This account and @ygern belong to the same person. English contents will be posted here, while @ygern would be used for Chinese contents.
  • I haven't had any content yet for this blog. But I already started inviting my followers there to follow this account. This is an old post from the other account, just to fill something here instead of leaving it empty.

Lead me, to reach my dream.

  1. Surely, Steemit is popular. When someone meets a new friend, "Hi, would you mind to add me as your Steemit friend?"

  2. Steemit has a very large user base. It is one of the major SNS platforms. People interact and exchange information here. Everyone is keen to hold some STEEM in order to have more influence in his or her community network. The value of STEEM as a currency is guaranteed by a large stakeholder base.

  3. Of course, Steemians do make money. But no, this is not an "earn-for-living" place. Be realistic. Majority of Steemians make, say, 5 or 10 dollars for a post. After all, this is just a SNS post, not a National Geographic article or a Guardian cover story. Someone does earn a living here, but, they are just a very small group. Because you just cannot imagine how can a system which generating hundreds and thousands of dollars per article for many people, can sustain for a long time. This is not the way this world should be.

  4. The platform is getting to be Reddit-like and not Medium-like. (I don't like this kind of comparisons, but I think you can easily understand what I mean by saying this way.) A very big user base is essential for currency circulation and liquidity. Elitism is not for this game.

  5. Your power on the platform still influenced by your SP holding. But one cannot exercise his big power by alone, e.g. giving a very big reward to a single Steemian by just his one single upvote, as the Whales are capable now. This is very important to prevent a corporation or person to fulfill his own will easily by just using money. We are not here to cultivate a Mark Zuckerberg or a Kim Jong-un.

  6. Ordinary people and commercial or non-commercial organizations actively interact on the platform. They create value, so they deserve the pay. This is the new norm of the world. One can no longer imagine that people are generating contents on whatever platform for free but at the same time, the platform's owner gets richer and richer.

  7. So how is Facebook doing?

"Huh? What? What kind of book are you talking about?"
