Steem Dollars are erupting in value at the moment.

Every Steemian that follows the crypto-market is cheering tonight as SBD is experiencing excellent gains, passing $14 USD and surging in volume.

After the calming of Bitcoin trading following the opening of CME futures, SBD spiked suddenly from about $11 USD to $14, then tapered back to $13 before continuing to climb. In terms of BTC value, it was an impressive climb from less than 60 000 satoshis to around 75 000.

Interestingly, the value of Steem itself is climbing, also at a fairly brisk pace, climbing from 12 000 satoshis to 13 600 in a brief time.
