RE: To steemit or not to steemit?

in #steemit5 years ago

I'm here for the duration. It's still infinitely better than Fascistbook. Plus, it's anarchy in action - building something new outside the disgusting status quo. It's going to take some time. And I never expected to get rich with it, anyway... :-)

^^ What he said.
It has been too quiet in here, and the energy, if not lost, has gone quiet.
It's not just price, but the combination of low price and uncertainty over an extended time. It's clear that no one is going to passively get rich, it's going to take work for even moderate success. Combine that with no guarantee that the work will pay off, and you have our current situation.
Those who leave loudly and vocally (or who stay and complain loudly and vocally) were hoping for a solution to come from a governance or structure and not from themselves. They wanted "freedom from" an existing structure but didn't like "freedom to" create their own.
Those who are willing to build will still have to decide if this is the place they want to do it.
I prefer to stay here. So many people and projects try to be something they are not. Steemit pretty much is what it is, and what people make of it. I like that.

I agree completely. Also, it seems to have flushed out a lot of the bots and shitty curators. I hope you stick around @dullhawk.
