Steemit Daily Roundup for August 8, 2016!

So, I want to do something simple that can add value to the Steem platform. What I’ve come up with was a Steem Daily Roundup.

Each day, I’ll pick three posts that I think are worthy of Steemit users’ attention and that are good enough for one reason or another that they shouldn't be missed. There will be three types of posts that I’ll share: A popular post (but not necessarily the most popular), an obscure post, and a strange post.

So, without further ado, here’s the posts for today.

Popular post: It Was Never About Capitalism vs. Communism... by @falkvinge -- What is it about? Teaser: The author makes a great case for the impact of centralization on a capitalist economy versus how things might transpire in a decentralized, and likely entirely voluntary one. Apparently, the blockchain is a game changer. (Duh!)

Obscure post: 10 Ways My Life Changed When I Got Rid of My TV by @susanne -- The title sums it up and probably many of Steemers (is that a phrase) have already cut the cord as it were but I think this rather obscure post provides a really helpful message. Your time is the most precious commodity that you have and I agree with the author that we ought to be very wary of giving too much of our time over to the boob toob (not talking about porno, that's another post).

Strange post: The Floating 'Alien' Pod by @samlucas -- In this post, we find something very strange and alien looking floating on the surface of the ocean. What is it? You'll have to check out the post to find out!
