RE: Starting Out on Steemit - Nine Humble Suggestions and Tips for Minnows

in #steemit6 years ago

I'm old enough to know about Zork! haha
First played on an Osborne 1 luggable computer...
Planetfall was another favorite of mine.

  • You said it, but others may lead astray. Purchasing SBI is better than powering up at first.
    • Many push push push newbies to powerup powerup powerup. Not right at first! You have 15 SP (from delegation) you power up. You still have 15 SP because the delegation went down. That keeps happening until you actually have 15 SP. Then you can actually start gaining ground.
      • I might recommend going for 15 shares of SBI to start. And you can get some of these by entering contests.
  • I would also toss in @Qurator as the next goal. 4 steem to join . Payback is pretty quick. Then if you auto-upvote them, you get about a nickel vote even now with the lousy price of SBD & Steem. It only gets better as the market goes up...
    • @dustsweeper is also a worthwhile investment for not just newbies, but anyone...

I should have gone straight to ten with @dustsweeper, which is a phenomenal service that converts SBD into upvotes to ensure that plankton who upvote content get paid for their curation efforts. Thanks for the reminder!

@qurator is another good suggestion. I applied and was rejected, so I wasn't thinking about them, but yeah, for 4 Steem, you can't beat the return on investment if they accept you. :)
