Steemit SEO can only happen if at least 4 of these options are available
I've been mulling over the possibilities of improving SEO on Steemit, as you may have read through my posts and comments, and I've come to a conclusion: it's simply not possible.

Only when the following can be done on Steemit will there be any hope for blog posts like mine be ranked well in the SERPs (and I'm listing this in no particular order):
- I should be able to map a domain name to my Steemit blog, just like how Blogger.com does it.
- An XML sitemap should be generated to improve search crawls.
- All posts in Steemit and similar front-facing apps like Busy.org must allow for canonical URLs to point to the mapped domain.
- Better taxonomy for multi-type searches, i.e. combination of user, date, and/or tags.
Content duplication is a major issue that's constantly shoved to my face. An immediate WordPress-Steemit post-and-sync flow will call in the "wrath" of @cheetah, the Steemit plagiarism checker bot. Auto-posting the Steemit content after payout will save you from @cheetah checking, but you'll run into Google's SEO penalty of duplicated content, which is why canonical URLs are critical. It's worse when you start promoting your Steemit, domain, AND Busy.org's URLs -- different URLs with the same content will eventually be seen by Google as spam, therefore low-quality content and website.
The only solution I can think up is doing everything manual and create summaries of my Steemit posts into my WordPress posts. Besides, there's not much point in promoting Steemit posts in your external website when your visitors aren't Steemians themselves -- you'll lose curation value because all the visitors can do is read your post and not compensate you for it if your content was good.
