My start to Steem bot building
I was planning to build my first Steem bot today, partly for personal use and partly just for the heck of it. However, seeing how unstable the Steem infrastructure is this week, I've decided to hold my development and testing, and make do with collecting links to posts and websites that talk about how to build Steem bots.
@money-dreamer has done a fantastic job creating the tutorials for nodeJS developers like myself. Initially, I was eyeing to develop a bot on Python, but seeing that my droplet setup in DigitalOcean isn't meant for Python development, I decided that it would be best to stick to nodeJS. Anyways, I started with NodeJS Steemit Bot Tutorial from the Steem JavaScript Development Links collection, and managed to successfully run it after I had to troubleshoot the STEEM.broadcast.vote problem using a suggestion I found in a Github issue tracker. As I mentioned, unfortunately the Steem token history is having a hell of a day today and not showing my ledger properly in my Wallet, so although the simple upvote script I ran did work, I didn't see the transaction.

You don't really need to build a bot yourself, especially if your primary reason is to make more Steem or SBD. There are plenty of bots that can help you with it, and all you have to do is follow their instructions. From my experience so far, your monetising strategy will change as your level increase, so using a certain bot to increase value may only work for a range of time. If you want to see how bots can help you, and you're a minnow (which is equivalent to a n00b), I suggest you try https://steemauto.com to experience the awesomeness of Steem bots first-hand.

Wahh.. Nice! Can't wait to see what this bot is gonna do. Unfortunately I am not able to create a bot, but I wish you luck with your project.
Thank you. Later I can share, and it's a matter of plug-and-play afterwards 😃
Good effort!! Good luck in building your bot!!
Thank you 😃 I look forward to sharing my bot for all to use.
