As it may take time for this to happen - doesn't this defeat the purpose? e.g - if it slides down to say 4 hours old, and then you upvote - nobody will see it?

Excellent point waykiwayki.
But it is just one way of seeing this. You can also use this to make your post-payouts higher for a lesser price. In the next update if you get less than 30% upvote from the wheel and your post is good and I like it, I will be adding 5-10% to it! Just to make sure the right posts gets what they deserve.
However I am really trying to keep up with the transaction as much as possible! But some really big upvote delays (like day or two) should not happen as I will update you guys everytime I will not be able to upvote. :)
