Resteem - What does it mean in terms of rewards

I have a question regarding resteem. I know it works like twitter but in terms of author and curator awards, how are they divided to users who have resteemed it.
If anyone knows, let me know

      But you get exposure an recognition. If you get resteemed by a big dude like @papa-pepper expect good things coming your way!
