5 Reasons Why Steemit Will Break Through In 2018
Steemit had a wonderful 2nd year in 2017, but the best is yet to come... and it might come real soon! Steemit is a platform that everyone on Steemit loves, but we are no where near mainstream. We won't be like Facebook in 2018, but Steemit could really make an impact this coming year. Looking beyond the basic answer of more people looking at crypto because that is going to happen every year for a few years. What will really make Steemit go up in value and in activity.
Here are the 5 reasons why I think Steemit will break through in 2018.

1. More Money
One of the biggest appeals to Steemit is the fact you can get paid to be a content creator or someone who writes thoughtful replies. Now that Steem is holding strong around $3.00 and SBD keeps floating around $9, things should pick up just because you can make more money.
The best thing that higher Steemit rewards create is better content. Because they are worth more, people are going to spend more time making quality posts with the goal of making more. When we have higher quality posts, we get more traffic in general. The higher value of Steemit is going to help bring a lot of new people here a couple of different ways.
2. Real Life Experiences And Real People
The crypto market is only a few years old and we're all new at this whole thing if you think about it. That means that as more and more people get involved they are going to search for the places where they can get the best info on how to invest and technical questions. Here on Steemit, you can find out just about anything you want on crypto.
Steemit is a site full of people who document their real life and talk about their real experiences in crypto. It is rare to find that. As more people gravitate to crypto I think the information and the kind of information that can be found on Steemit will become more attractive and drive more people to Steemit. Then they learn they can make crypto by engaging on Steemit, they're hooked.

3. Search Engines
Steemit has been around for a little while now and seen some great growth. This past year you can see the graph go up as search engines are sending more and more traffic. Every day there are thousands of new blogs posted and that information adds up and over time will make Steemit a candidate to make it on the first page on a slew of keywords.
As more and more people start investing and learning about crypto, they eventually find Steemit. Now as more blogs are written daily on crypto, there are more people being pointed to Steemit. This will only continue to grow as we grow and the more organic traffic we can drive the faster the site will grow. Plus the better the blogs and content the more it will be shared on platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

4. The Loyalists
There are people like me who have been on Steemit for six months or so that are now seeing huge rewards for their time. Not to mention the people who have been here from the beginning. Most of these people are now sharing and talking about Steemit with renewed vigor.
As more and more people find freedom and success here on Steemit, the more we'll talk about it and convince new people to try it out. There is no doubt that Steemit will grow in 2018 because of the people that are already loyal to the platform talking so highly about it to other friends.
5. Smart People Like Smart People
Ask a question on Facebook and see how many dumb responses you have to get before you get a good answer. Especially if you ask in a group. Steemit isn't like that. The composition of Steemit is very educated and you don't find many smart ass remarks as replies.
Here on Steemit people are helpful and intelligent. When more intellegent and efficient people find Steemit in one of the above ways, many will find a new social media home. The community makes Steemit and it is a smart and helpful one. Other people who are serious about improving their lives and reading quality content then they will like Steemit. Once we have all the smart people... we can rule the world. lol

Great piece @walkingkeys. Steemit indeed represents a lot and the growth just as you said is going to be tremendous not just in monetary terms but also in communities as well. I just feel happy to be part of the platform today and will continue to promote it to my mates. I got to learn a lot about cryptos right here on steemit and i have gained a lot from the advice of people like @kingscrown. 2018 is going to be awesome guys.
You cant ever rely on search engines they could easily flag steemit at any point if to many people start posting trash. However for now it is a massive entry point for people.

And improve the platform is a must, people like easy platforms, with a good ui/ux experiece, needs to be more user-friendly to catch new people. I know they are launching smart media tokens but i think they should focus on the platform itself too. Thanks for the content, i really enjoy your posts.

They want you to do the work and they will make the money. Don't waste your time here.
This is a community project and open-soure, for sure there is big people earning more but we can all help the platform and create a good social media with incentives.

I wonder what price of Steem and SBD will be when Steemit become mainstream. It would be good if it goes little bit higher, but if it goes to the roof Steemit will become all about money for most of the people. Steem 5$ and SBD 15$ - I'm happy with that level.
Steem will never take off because if you stick around here for a few months you will see how unfair and broken it is. Even the biggest fanboys have articles lamenting the issues here.

I disagree, with the take off part, but agree there are issues. There are issues with every crypto endeavor right now. I've followed some of the big dogs, but it is still a very easy gateway to crypto an earning crypto online for free. That will cause the site to grow. I'm hopeful some of the issues work out over the next year, but regardless think that the Steemit platform has a lot of room to grow.

I agree with most of your point's i had done a similar post when i first bought steem and powered up .I do indeed see steem revolutionizing the social media industry but i believe it will be a slow gradual process .However the number of people joining steem now is truly incredible.
