Double Rainbow after a Dark Storm?
After every storm, a rainbow appears!
Steem price is low, engagement is decreasing...
This is not the worst storm that Steemit has faced. Though the newcomers (self included) who joined Steemit when Steem prices were higher (almost double at around 2.2 USD couple of months ago) may feel frustrated and disengage, we need to remember that Steem has been as high as 4 USD and as low as 0.08 USD in the past. It has always bounced back and the platform has grown stronger. These were the thoughts that crossed my mind today when I looked at this photo taken with my iPhone 6 in September 2015 in Helsingborg, Sweden.

This is what one of my bosses told me early on in life. Surviving a storm always brings out the best in all of us. During storms, it becomes clear who are the loyalists, who are the persistent ones, who are mere opportunists and who are in it for the long haul! Then, at the end of the storm, we feel more confident, full of life and ready to take on another storm. This applies to life as well as Steemit.
There appears to be a lot of coordination between the number of posts and the Steem price. It is debatable whether a lot of engagement drives Steem price higher or if the higher price motivates more people to post.
However, one thing is clear, the inherent strength of the platform, which encourages free thought and exchange of ideas, has a sound crypto based reward mechanism for good content and involves a very vibrant community that encourages engagement, will always come out with a rainbow after every such storm!
Price of Steem going up (attracting more followers on Steemit) and strong bonding between Steemians (having weathered a tough storm) will be the Double Rainbow I expect at the end of every storm!

I've been here a year, though the good and the bad. Who knows what the future holds. Steemit is a good lesson for me in non-attachment - to not hold expectations and enjoy the moment, because it is so volatile.

Thank you @mrs.steemit. I wish that everyone displays the same sense of calmness about price drops as you. However, if that were to happen, then price would not drop - would it? Price drops are related to market PANIC . LOL So it is a catch 22. We want peace of mind with strong Steem price but we also want others to Panic so that we get investment opportunities. LOL

Worth informative article, indeed. I had no idea about the fluctuation of SD. Come what may! I just started working on steemit and i am much curious to discover and understand more about Steemian community.
