Steemit Inc. hat in den vergangenen Wochen damit begonnen, die Web-basierte STEEM-Wallet von der sozialen Netzwerkseite Steemit (auch Condenser genannt) auf eine eigene Domain zu transferieren, was ich als guten Schritt empfinde, da dadurch die Sicherheit erhöht wird und es auch sauberer ist, eine eigene STEEM-Wallet-Web-App zu haben.

In Zukunft wird man also auf diese neue Domain weitergeleitet, wenn man Wallet-bezogene Transaktionen durchführen will. Das hilft die Sicherheit zu erhöhen, da man auf steemit.com dann nur noch den Posting-Key braucht, der weniger Rechte besitzt als der Active oder Owner-Key.

Im Moment hat sich an der Wallet noch nicht so viel geändert, außer dass sie jetzt auf einer eigenen Domain gehostet ist. In Zukunft würde ich mir auch ein Redesign wünschen und auch die Integration von Steem Keychain wäre erstrebenswert, damit man überhaupt keine privaten Keys mehr auf Webseiten eingeben braucht.

ps. bin auch sehr froh darüber, dass wir den Domain-Namen in letzter Sekunde noch ändern konnten, da davor steemit.co als Domain angedacht war, was wie ein Typo oder noch schlimmer eine Phishing-Seite ausgesehen hat ;)

Steemit Inc. has started in the past weeks to move the web-based STEEM Wallet from the social network site Steemit (also called Condenser) to its own domain, which I think is a good step because it increases security and it is cleaner to have your own Steem Wallet Web App as well.

In the future, you will be redirected to this new domain if you want to perform wallet-related transactions. This helps to increase security, because on steemit.com you only need to login with the Posting Key from now on, which has less rights than the Active or Owner Key.

At the moment the wallet hasn't changed much except that it is now hosted on its own domain. In the future I would also like to see a redesign and also the integration of Steem Keychain would be great, so that you don't have to enter any private keys at all on websites anymore.

ps. I am also very happy that we were able to change the domain name at the last minute, because before steemit.co was planned as the domain for the wallet, which looked like a typo or even worse a phishing site ;)
