Vice Industry Token at Blockchain Week NYC!
Consensus has quickly become the largest cryptocurrency conference in North America!
The hype surrounding it this year was high, with many speculating a rise in the market following it. With over 8,500 attendees that preregistered, the event brought in an impressive $17 million, just in ticket sales. Members of our team were privileged to attend the massive event, as well as another one of the events that was part of Blockchain Week NYC, the Crypto Influence Summit.
This was an opportunity for the project members to network with some of the most influential individuals in the crypto-space, as well as connect with other industry leaders. While the expectations for the markets reaction to this event as a whole, seems to have not quite been met, the benefit of having our project represented here, exceeded our expectations.
Our CEO, Stuart Duncan, had the chance to meet with Ned Scott of Steemit, and conversation quickly turned to ways the two projects could synergize.
He also ran into longtime supporter and crypto influencer, Michael Suppo, and both being fans of one another, they made sure to commemorate their first in-person meeting with a candid selfie!
After spending three days learning about some of the newest applications of blockchain to various projects and industries, as well as teaching others about our disruptive platform, the team headed to the Crypto Influence Summit. Here, we were able to pitch our project to a room of hundreds of top crypto influencers! Each and every person in attendance received a voucher for 1,000 VIT, creating awareness among many prominent voices in the crypto space.
The vision behind our project was well-received, and after the prestigious Crypto Influence Awards ceremony, the team enjoyed a performance by multi-platinum award winning artist, Mims, while cultivating meaningful relationships with fellow attendees.
The eventful week was now at an end, with the next day, falling on our scheduled weekly live stream. With the team committed to keeping on schedule, they headed to the Rockefeller Center to share the happenings of the previous week with our community. We felt the iconic Atlas statue in front of the Rockefeller International Building was a fitting setting, with the landmark widely appropriated as a symbol of the Objectivist movement.
