Why Twitching Eyes
An eyelid twitch is when you have a spasm or slight movement of your upper or lower eyelid. It comes on suddenly, and can last for a minute, hours, days or even longer.
According to the old people, the eyelids movement indicates something such as:
Upper Right Eyelid – fortune and security.
Lower Right Eyelid – Bad thing will happen.
Upper Left Eyelid – Will get something good.
Lower Left Eyelid - Sad news and crying.
Well, these are just an ancient belief, depend on individual to believe it or not. If it's mean I will get something good, then keep on twitching Baby...LOL.
CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS
Stress
It's said that our bodies react in many different ways when we're under sreess. A twitching eye can be one sign of stress, especially when it is related to vision problems such as eye strain.
Eye strain
Even minor vision problems can make your eyes work too hard, triggering eyelid twitching. Have your eyes examine and check so that your eyeglass prescription is update.
Tiredness
Due to lack of sleep can trigger a twitching eyelid. Catching up on your sleep can help.
Alcohol
This is also one of the reason why your eye twitch. Try abstaining for a while would be a good idea.
After you drink alcohol, you may find that your body will be burning with the fire inside. The alcohol will stimulate your eyes nerves. That is why you get the eyes twitches. However you should notice whether you have this phenomenon during your common time with no alcohol. If so, you need to have the full check on the eyes and need the in-time treatment.

Caffeine
Too much caffeine can trigger eye twitching.
Dry eyes
Many adults experience dry eyes, especially to those who use computers, wear contact lenses, take certain medications and consume caffeine and/or alcohol. Restore eyes by temporarily avoid wearing contact lenses would be a good idea.
Nutritional imbalances
Some reports suggest that lack of certain nutritional substances, such as magnesium, can trigger eyelid spasms.
Eye twitching, except in extreme cases, is not the result of lack of proper eating habits, but nutritional imbalances in the form of lack of vitamins and minerals can play a role, according to doctor of optometry Burt Dubow of the All About Vision website.
Among the nutrients that are important to the eye are calcium-magnesium-vitamin D, vitamin A, vitamin B12, and omega 3 fatty acids.
Allergies
People with eye allergies can have itching, swelling and watery eyes. When we rub our eyes it releases histamine into the lid tissues and the tears.
DOCTOR'S ADVICE
Some eye doctors have recommended antihistamine eye drops or tablets to help some eyelid twitches. However, antihistamines also can cause dry eyes so, it's best to work with your eye doctor to make sure you're doing the right thing for your eyes.
Alternatively, drink lots of water - dry eyes, eye irritation and eye inflammation are also associated with eyelids moving around due to lack of water.

I'm getting this problem, lately, I'm spending more time in front of my PC, sleeping a little less, so, as you mentioned above, the trigger, in my case, could be "eye strain" and "tiredness".
