Arthur Williams - Micro Hydro Guru From UK
We are proud to receive a visit from one of the micro hydro guru from UK this week. He will be in Penampang, Borneo for one week visiting our workshop and sites.
There will be meeting session with him on 18 April 2018 at our center in ISTC-CREATE, Kg. Nampasan, Penampang, where he will be talking about Low Head Propeller Turbines. There will also be a Q and A session on Micro Hidro Project that day.
He arrived at our center yesterday and today our team and Dr. Williams are on their way to Kg. Longkogungan, Ulu Papar. They will hike for about six hours to the village and stay there for one night.
Dr. William's Bio
Since 1987, Arthur Williams or known as Dr. Williams, has worked with the Intermediate Technology Development Group on micro-hydro. Upon completing his Ph.D. at Nottingham Trent University, he continues to work there as a Senior Research Fellow. He is the course director for the interdisciplinary MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering and also a lecturer in that field. He is also a part-time MSc in Power Electronics, Machines & Drives.
Dr. Williams involved in the development and dissemination of low-cost technologies for rural electrification. He visited Sri Lanka
Nepal, Pakistan and Peru to spead his knowledge on Micro hydro. Following are some of the books published in his field of work.
