Steemit Re-styling: Initial Mockups
Let's start saying that I'm not a graphic designer! But, in my day to day life, one of my duties is making sure that in my games and interactive experiences the user experience (UX) is as smooth as possible.
I love, as you probably do, steemit.com, but I have to say that I struggle to spend time reading and interacting due to the awful UX/UI treatment. Well, it's in beta and of course, there are so many important things to take care of while developing such a cool system so I'm not so worried about it.
I spent a couple of hours mocking up a potential feed page, keeping pretty much the same colour keys for both normal and night mode.
As you can see at a glance you'll be able to see the new posts of the people you follow in the centre, pretty much as it is now, slightly changed the icons though. On the left part, there are the user belongings and actions. On the right part the trending tags and user suggestions - this is a feature I really miss, to be honest.
That's all for now, I'd be happy to know what you folks think about those mockups and if there are features you'd like to see there.

Man, the UI feature list would be endless.
-I'd want a menu/checkbox at the top to 'hide resteems'
-I'd want a menu/checkbox at the top or somewhere to 'show only posts in X category in my feed' (eg, fiction, whatever)
-I'd want a list somewhere of my 'main friends' (or whatever) so I could group my people that I REALLY want to see, and put everyone else into an 'acquaintances' group. Then allow me to show/hide stuff in my feed for either of those groups.
-I'd want to be able to toggle open a given posts 'comments' section without clicking INTO that post, in case I've already read the post and just want to keep up with comments (similar to FB comments)
A guy could go on and on :)
@negativer, thank you very much for your feedback! Every endless list is always appreciated :) mostly when the scope is so broad. It's interesting that the majority of the things you've listed out are mainly UX features...that will ease our staying in the platform. I'll definitely work on them as soon as possible! :)
