Adressing Steem's Password IssuesteemCreated with Sketch.

I have been for the passed few weeks (since I discovered it) been pitching it to all my friends in an attempt to grow the community and expose steem to more people.

It's hard enough convincing and explaining to people that they can make money off posting on a website with no ads.

Once I finally got one of my friends to apply and wait about a week to get approved, he goes to login and finds out he copy pasted his code one digit off the original. This now means that his account is gone and unretrievable.

He tried registering again but couldn't due to the fact that his phone number has already been registered.

Essentially he has no intention of creating a new account and has lost interest in steem all together.

How is this issue being/will be addressed? How is a site supposed to experience mass adoption when the average user can lose all his hard work/account with just a button click?

You can't expect the average consumer to back up their password, the site has to be hassle free for a broad userbase and in it's current state, at least pertaining to passwords; it's not broad and easy enough. Any discussion/opinion is welcome!
