The truth about upvotes, curation rewards and author rewards.
Every one can make money by Upvoting and here you will read what you need to know:
- If you upvote before 15 minutes you give 99.94% to the author and get 00.06%
- If you upvote after 15 minutes you give 50% to the author and receive 50%
- If you upvote after 30 minutes you receive 100% curation reward
The more upvotes you do in a 24 hour period the less each of your upvotes is worth and rewarded. The recommended amount of upvotes in 24 hours is 20-30
So now you know how to upvote profitably and its time to learn about curation rewards:
- Don't upvote articles that are already trending this won't bring you any curation rewards.
- Take your time to find recently posted content wich could become trending/valuable and upvote it smart.
- You need to power up! The more Steem power you hold the bigger curation rewards you will receive.
When I signed in to steemit I upvoted several posts that became top articles and I didn't receive any curation rewards. Later I understood... My Steem power of 3 was just to low to make impact. So If you want to receive curation rewards you need to power up other wise your votes won't do anything good for you and the person you are upvoting. Since I powered up and have over 200 Steem power I started to receive curation rewards. Mostly its still the minimum of 0,001 Steem power, but hey its better than nothing.
Author rewards you will receive for posting on Steemit.
- First payout is after 12 hrs. Second payout is after 4 weeks
- 50% of payout you receive in Steem Dollars and 50% you receive in Steem power.
- Post 4-6 articles a day, don't be a spammer and take time to contribute valuable content.
The second time period of 4 weeks was made so articles have a chance to become trending over time.
Hey, great post @vapekings14 Also, I think it is important to know that if you post more than 4 articles in a 24 hour period, you are "taxed" on your rewards.

hey i have heard about this taxation but couldn't find proof it it so i did write it down. If you have a source for me where i can check it i all add it to the article.
If I'm not mistaken, there is a limit of 4 posts nowadays. And if you think about creating quality content, it is pretty hard to come up with even 4 quality posts a day, every day. It takes time and thought to come up with good posts...

@vapekings14 i am a little confused about author rewards. it says everywhere that the author rewards are 50% SBD and 50% SP ( if the default option was selected while posting articles ) yet all the author rewards i see are like 5.887 SBD, and 0.951 STEEM POWER or 11 SBD, and 1.7 STEEM POWER that does not look like 50% distribution

Isn't that kind of shitty for the authors on steemit? Especially for new authors, that don't have a large follower base yet.
