Things are not so simple, as you described. Father\mother and all my friends are so tied of facebook\twitter\reddit\livejournal\other_social_network.. "Another social network?" They said to me. "And is there anyone of my friends already?" And what i can advice them? What they should sign for? For making money? They are already making money the way they doing it last several years. For content? Where is it? Only "Hello steemit" and so.. A long list of features they already have in other place - is under deep development yet and while it is not implemented - steemit will remain only the very new social project for geeks

I can agree that it's not so simple. You need to explain to them that its 100% free to sign up, but you earn money for doing simple tasks. You can even over exaggerate to make the process easier. :)
