Quarrels Whales

No matter how many votes? But who votes.

As you can see, I gained 61 upvotes and received only $ 0.08? WHAT?

People give Steem value by working together. The more everyone contributes the larger the pie we share grows. The core idea is that everyone should get a slice of the pie proportional to their contribution.

It would be nice if everyone would be content receiving a fair share, but the reality is that many people wish to maximize their take. These are the people that show up to a pot-luck with enough food for one person, but eat enough food for two or more.

A whale is someone who makes waves in the market every time they move. An Evil Whale is someone whose negative actions dramatically reduce the value of the whole pie.

Good Whales act in ways that maximize the value of their capital. The side effect of their actions is to increase the value of everyone else’s capital at the same time. These individuals are motivated to counteract any abuse they see. The larger the whale, the more incentive they have to be a good whale.

So if a group of minnows get together to milk the system, a single whale can come along and eat them up. The more effective they are at policing abuse the less incentive there is to attempt abuse in the first place.

Good Whales are the primary defense against Evil Whales.

A down vote is fundamentally selfless. There is no profit for the voter unless the down vote increases the value of their capital. The system as a whole needs to be designed to ensure that those wishing to down vote get the last say.

In other words, good whales running bots to police the activities of evil whales need to have the last say. We have systematically designed Steem to maintain this behavior in every aspectexcept curation rewards.

As the largest whale, Steemit has the greatest incentive to be a good whale. We have more to lose by tolerating abuse than anyone else. Any changes we propose are selfishly designed to maximize the value of the platform which benefits everyone. Some people may suggest that we make changes to increase our slice of the pie, but any rational actor would be foolish to want a larger piece of a smaller pie. We would be quite happy to have 1% of a trillion dollar pie.

There are some people that are upset about potential reductions in their pending curation rewards. We know that the only people that stand to lose from the proposed changes are the reasonably large whales, especially those who have written bots designed to maximize their profits. I encourage every whale to look at the bigger picture and realize that even though you may end up with a smaller slice of the pie, any change we propose is designed to grow the value of the pie.

If you have large breasts write steemit them and will turn success, now if you have own contents you will be much more than simple Mamas.

Whales, minnows, and dolfins? This is turning into a fish fry. New users might be turned off by all the ocean games being played as we begin the greatest social media platform ever created. I'm in it for the long haul.I believe good content will eventually make this site explode into the mainstream. I understand the wealth will eventually be spread around. This is only the beginning. As the water starts to fill up the pond more people will be doing the backstroke as the years pass on . It will take a little time getting through the strong tides . Some folks will realise they need to wear water wings until they figure out how to receive proper value for their time, effort and writing styles.

Let's Make Word Great Again

Amen...
Some people just ....get it.

I'm just gonna keep using all SBD for Steem Power. Beside the fresh content coming our way, I think Steemit will help tone down online bullying as well. At least when you share on Steemit you know that some hater can't blast you without being held accountable by the crowd. Once people start to open up more with no fear of being online bullied for sharing there opinion, meaningful dialogue will start to unfold when Steemers have a difference of opinion. This is a game changer. I'm grateful to be her so soon. See ya around fuzzy. :)

Thank you for sharing your opinion, over time many problems in steemit disappeared. We are future whales. :)

Yes I think so, over time the chaff will be separated from the wheat, the good Steemers journey followed, and the trolls died on the beach.

There is a swarm of bots going around that gives you 50+ votes and only give you like 0.001$ each.

there is a reputation system being built for steem so we are good to go. Bots will not survive this very easily and those who do will eventually be weeded out as well. We have an evergrowing community of people who will protect their time and efforts on steem to the greatest degree they can. :)

Steemit is still young, as it matures things will be even keel.

Holy crap! Did I just get an Upvote from a whale?

I recommend using the reward SBD from your first whale upvote to fill up your Steem Power. All your upvotes going forward will help other content creators earn from their efforts. See ya around the pond. Keep adding to your Steem Power and get in to deep blue sea for swims with the other growing Dolfins

I think does who was first into steemit, who is named Whales etc, is realy tired of this crappy name.
If i was a early adopter, i wouldnt be named the name of a sea creature. lol

You and your commentors have been fuzzbombed for your contribution to the community. You never know when we whales will strike gold by finding you! And it wont be long before we feed enough people that they will become whales too :)

Yes I believe it, looking forward to this moment. :)

Very look forward to being a whale.

I heard there was a bomb here...?!

Thanks for the good article
