Update your profile - New Steemit Feature to tell others about you.

in #steemit8 years ago

Steemit is an awesome tool and platform and I'm enjoying seeing it evolve and be updated. Yesterday, profiles had some features add that you can now put a little more info about yourself to help others know more about you.

What it Looks Like

How to Make Your Own

Head over to your own profile and hit, settings. You'll see the new fields you can now enter.

Now you can add your own information to include a display name, location, a website and about text.

For website, make sure you include the http:// in the URL.

Why bother setting your profile?

Well some of the best ways to connect on steemit is to find people of like interests. Knowing what someone is about helps others to know if they care to follow you, which helps your content to be seen.

Web site links are another obvious benefit, especially for authors who can or want to link to a blog (like I've done) with more content people can find. It's also a helpful way to validate who you are and to provide reasons for new visitors and followers to trust you and your content more.

All in all, its a great new feature, so take a minute and go set up your own new profile settings!

I really like this new features :) It really gives the profiles a better taste of the person who owns them!

Absolutely, its great for that for sure. Thanks valth!

You've encouraged me to update my profile. I liked the "Loving life..." part so I hope you don't mind me copying it. Thanks!

Thanks lightsplasher, I don't mind one bit. What types of 3D graphics are you into? I'm a 3D animation artist as a side hobby, so do industrial animation and other 3D graphics related. You?

I've done some 3D animation for clients, sold 3D lenticular cards to gift shops and done some web page 3D programming work for showing custom products. Most of my client work was in javascript and actionscript and has dried up at this time. I've also authored a 3D colouring book application for kids where you can change the colour on a 3D object. At this point I'm kind of idling looking for my next big 3D gig and having fun doing my own thing.

Well that cool lightsplasher, some variety in that 3D by the sounds of it. I've done mostly industrial simulation and animations, lots of stuff for investor presentations, engineering simulations, etc. My company is Ethereal 3D if you want to see some of my stuff I've posted.

That's neat @unipsycho sounds like you have been doing a variety of things too, there is much to learn and do in this field. (Just an fyi but your link is not presently working and shows some PHP error in Firefox and Chrome.) If we had better email support I would contact you privately for such information - this could be something we might suggest as a future improvement to Steemit.

Thanks for presenting and summarizing this feature. Now to write one for myself....hmmmmm....who am I?
