What happens to steemit posts after 7 days? Is there a way to generate income from old post??

On steemit, after seven days your post pays out. Meaning you can't earn from it again. It would be of no use if your post after seven days old is still upvoted.
Even once it's 12hours to a post payout, you can't reward that post because it's of no use..
But someone can get rewards from the posts again, though on the comment section that's if a new comment is still made after seven days again..
That's not true anymore bro, you can contact @steem-bounty and send them your link, if anyone upvote your post even if it's after a month, you'll get the reward. Trust me.
