How to Write on Steemit With Zero Knowledge of Markdown.
I've noticed that one of the most popular questions new users on Steemit ask is how to write in markdown. Though @thecryptofiend already answered this with his guide on markdown basics for beiginners, but however; if you are looking for a more automated approach, then this post is what you need.
Posting With Steemit In-Built Editor
Most new users on Steemit are unaware of the in-built editor that allows you to write posts, and have them easily formatted without markdown knowledge. I was a victim. The reason why most of us do not notice this option is because it disappears immediately you start typing without enabling the feature first.
Enabling the Editor View Option
It's pretty simple, just click on it before you start typing anything at all. Type a letter, and then you can toggle between the Raw HTML
view and the Editor
view anytime.
Using the Editor
To use the editor, simply click on any of the editing options available to format your texts.
For example, to bold a text, click on the B option, write the text, and click on the B option again to disable the bold style as you type. Or simply highlight the texts you would like to bold, and click the B option.
Options for Formatting Texts
B - Bold text
I - Italic text
S - Strike-through text
Create Un-odered List items
Create Ordered List items
Blockquote
Add link and Remove Link
Add image
Undo and Redo
These are all the formatting styles available at the Editor view option. I hope you find this quick tutorial helpful!
